Well, let me tell you something: in the real world barely anyone gives love letters anymore. Quite sad, really.
At this point you might be thinking about actually writing one. So, what do you need?
Grab yourself a laptop or computer, write the draft. Then, depending on your taste, you can either print it, or write it down by hand. If you choose the latter, then I suggest using some colored paper, otherwise just put a cute picture behind the text.
Also, time. You do not want to rush this. Not because it won't be nice enough, but because you will feel like crap. Handing over something that is barely put together is never a good idea, especially if it's a gift for a loved one.
