The love languages

The main problem in relationships is usually the fact that the partners communicate their love differently. Currently when we talk about love languages, there are 5 that are mainly used.

People normally have 2 favourites of these, so you might want to experiment when you learn your other half's love language.

Gifts

For many of us, flowers and chocolate mean the most. Afterall, it signifies that at one point during the day our partner thought of us and wanted to make our day a little better. As long as it's not about money, this has one of the biggest emotional background.

Touch

The feeling of someone else's skin against yours can release tension and make the brain produce a happiness hormone. Which is why many people express how they feel about others by hugging, kissing or just simply caressing them.

Affirmation

Complimenting your other half may be the way to go for some. It can be anything from a simple "You look nice today" to "It was so nice of you to wash the dishes without me having to ask you". Praise is also a good way to make the other person do something more often, so use it wisely.

Acts

Some people appreciate acts over anything else. Simple things, such as running a bath for them can make them feel so much better about their entire day.

Quality time

And of course, the quality of the time you spend with them can be important as well. Instead of being on your phone constantly, pay attention to them. Listen to what they say, ask how their day was.
