There's some crucial information right here and we will also talk about certain situations which you might need to know about. But even if you are just debating becoming friends with benefits with someone... You need to think about whether it's worth it or not. First of all, lot's look at the very obvious benefits when it comes to having someone that you can always hit up with a booty call. Pros For most people, it's the physical aspect. Orgasms are always nice. They make you stress-free and fill you up with happiness hormones that can have an effect on you for up to a couple of hours. How would you not want that all the time? If you get yourself a boyfriend or girlfriend then it's much di

Get Yourself A Gamer Partner!

Are you kinda jealous?

Have you had enough of the usual dating phase?

Are you into more nerdy people?

Then hear me out, because you may have the perfect guy/girl waiting for you just around the corner.

We generally think of gamers as overweight anti-socials, when in reality, that stereotype is rarely ever true. The acne ridden, sweaty face you have in mind is more likely to be a justice warrior's that's currently white knighting on Twitter. (Ooops, might've been too specific.)

The thing is: if we meet someone and this is one of the first traits we learn about them, then it usually becomes a deal breaker. But why is that?

Mainly because of the stereotype.

"He must be lazy."
"She is probably sitting in front of the computer all day."
"They don't have a life."

I've heard all of these sentences as soon as someone mentioned that they like video games. An they're such BS. So let's address all these concerns.

Laziness and incapability
Gaming is a hobby. Same as playing an instrument or doing artistic stuff. You don't consider the latter lazy, so why are gamers condemned for their hobby?

It gives also people dopamine and it also has a positive effect on people's minds.

Decision-making, motor skills, teamwork*, problem solving. Any game will require you to be good at one of these, but it's more likely that you'll need more. Thus making people more capable of handling real life situations.

*Yes, gamers often need to work with others, so you can quit saying that they don't have any social skills as well.

Occupying the person's time
Just simply no. They absolutely do not spend entire days sitting at the computer. These people are the same as you. They cannot take that kind of strain on.

Although, I'm not denying the fact that a lot of people suffer from a serious case of video game addiction, that can cause this kind of behavior. But that's a completely different situation and I only want to address the healthy part of the gaming community.

Not having a life
Now, this one's personal.

Video games provide you with the ability to meet people from around the world (the same as the internet, but this time you're given reasons to interact and work together). And even though it's not recognized as real, you can actually make friends.

Hell, I met my best friend playing League of Legends.

But other than a social life, I can only say the same as before. Being a gamer isn't an identity, it's a part of it.

So, now that we've talked about why you thought it was a bad idea to date a gamer, let me give you a few reasons why you should.

You can spend all your time together
But also, not really. Once your partner gets you into video games, there's no going back.

It can result in you two playing together all the time or just simply sitting next to each other while you're talking about your current quests.

But there will be no such thing as "I have no idea what we should do."

Communication
Since gamers have to spend a lot of time working together with other people it's a given that their communication skills are a lot better, especially since it's specialized to solve problems.

(This can also help you if you struggle with communicating.)

No more jealousy
If your partner's main hobby is gaming then the guy's night will consist of him going over to a friend's house and playing LAN.

I know all about the girls who are afraid that their man is going out and (possibly) cheating on them. Here's the conclusion: get a gamer. They won't be going to such places.
